Drywax by woolwax™ is a high performance, permanent 1-time soft-shell semi-firm wax coating. Non-hazardous and non-flammable with very little odor. Dries to a semi-firm pliable soft wax. Corrosion protection for 5+ years.

For the person that prefers to have a longer lasting, more permanent coating, this is an alternative. This is NOT a rubberized coating, and will not hold in moisture like a rubberized coating that becomes porous after time. Drywax remains a soft pliable and flexible wax that will not crack, or become porous and let in moisture.   Drywax takes 72 hours to fully cure (no solvents). Drywax is dry to the touch in 90 minutes, so the vehicle can be driven.  But it should not be driven in any significant rain for (3) days.

Please read instructions carefully

·         Drywax is developed to be applied on new, used, or very light surface rust surfaces. It is not intended to be used on surfaces with any significant surface rust. (Use original Woolwax ™ for rusted frames).

·         This coating is dark grey/blue before applying. It dries to a pure matte black. Also available in “clear”.

·         DO NOT FREEZE. This is a water-based coating

·         It is very important that you apply only enough for a thin coating.  Apply 6-9 mils ONLY.
This means that to end up with 3-4 mils dry, you need to apply 6-9 mils wet, to allow for the water to evaporate and the coating to fully cure. MORE IS NOT BETTER.  If you apply too much it will take much longer to dry, and you may end up with pinholes, or flash rust.

·         If you are coating a loose part, do not dry in the sunlight. UV light accelerates rust.

·         Shake very well before applying.

·         This can easily be sprayed or painted on any metal  or plastic surface.

·         Drying time is 90 minutes to the touch, and 72 hours to be fully cured if applied correctly

·         The ideal temperature to apply is 50-90 degrees F.

·         Do not thin Drywax. Must be applied at full strength.

·         This coating is not intended to be removed. Removal is possible with mineral spirits and power wash.

·         Wipe off any overspray immediately with damp cloth before it begins to dry.

·         Keep unused products securely closed to keep the air out.  Shelf life is about 6-8 months. Store in a cool dry area, away from any heat source.

·         This is a soft wax coating and should not be topcoated with any hard coating.

·         If any flash rust occurs after application, apply a second thin coat of Drywax.

·         Cleanup- Spray equipment can be rinsed with warm soapy water while coating is still wet. Wipe off any overspray immediately while still wet

·         Drying- Fans will help accelerate the dry time. Air movement is more effective than heat.

·         After application- The vehicle should be kept out of the rain for the next 3 days. Even though the coating is “dry to the touch”, there is still moisture in the coating that needs to “gas out” and escape. When you introduce more moisture to water-based coating that is not fully cured, it will reactivate the existing moisture, and the curing process begins all over again. There could also be loss of pigment coloring.

·         Vehicle can be “touched up” or recoated with Drywax when needed.

*** Drywax by Woolwax™ is a water-based product with a limited shelf-life of 6-12 months depending on how it is stored. Please do not purchase more than you will need over the next year.
